The rapid development of digital photography and computing technologies now allow a near-perfect depiction of reality on a display screen. The 360-degree spherical panoramic view makes the user feel like an actual part of the environment and experience the location as if looking at it via telescope. He may also zoom on any of the details at his leisure. Such images offer a 360-degree field of view both horizontally and vertically, the latter of which makes the sky an the ground perfectly visible.
Since there are no invisible details on panoramic vistas, it is of outmost importance to select the right location and arrange your gear accordingly. Due consideration should be given to ambient lighting conditions as well. We normally use HDR technology to handle those.
We use wide angle lenses to capture standard resolution panoramic vistas. An average of 5 to 6 shots give full view of most locations. High resolution panoramic vistas are composed of images captured by tele-objectives which result in amazingly detailed gigapixel images
Captured images, post-processed with dedicated software, are compiled into 2D panoramic vistas. We carefully remove scaffoldings by photo-manipulation and apply color filtering as necessary. Resulting images are placed in a 3D interactive environment complete with transition points, thus creating a virtual tour of the original location. Finally we add any and all desired after-effects and integrate the necessary widgets.
